I can't read Italian, but I hope that you can read English. :-)<br /><br />I spent some time in Ethiopia last year, and saw a range of Ethiopian embroidery, all of which seemed to use chain stitch. The motifs are based on traditional Ethiopian crosses which are used in celebrating Ethiopian Orthodox religion. Most of the embroidery is worked in wool yarn, on handwoven cotton fabric.<br /><br />The sample you have is very typical of Ethiopian embroidery.
