Vestito etiope
Questo vestito, proveniente dall'Etiopia, è un regalo che ho ricevuto per Natale. E' in cotone,la linea è essenziale,un lungo rettangolo con una apertura per la testa e una cucitura ai fianchi. Ha un ricamo sul davanti, ma non so che punto sia. Qualcuno me lo sa spiegare?

I spent some time in Ethiopia last year, and saw a range of Ethiopian embroidery, all of which seemed to use chain stitch. The motifs are based on traditional Ethiopian crosses which are used in celebrating Ethiopian Orthodox religion. Most of the embroidery is worked in wool yarn, on handwoven cotton fabric.
The sample you have is very typical of Ethiopian embroidery. I have a few more examples on my blog:
